Pha That Luang

My 1st postcard from Laos, sent by Jill. Thank you very much!

Pha That Luang is a gold-covered large Buddhist stupa in the centre of Vientiane. It is suggested it was built in the 3rd century. It is regarded as the most important national monument in Laos and a national symbol.

Laos is a landlocked country in Southeast Asia, bordered by Burma, China, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand. In 2012 the Laotian population was estimated to be around 6.5 million.
