Gray Wolf
Gray wolves travel greater distances than any other terrestrial mammals except the caribou. The average size of a pack's territory in Alaska is about 600 square miles, on Alaska's North Slope it can be as large as 1,000 square miles. Packs usually consist of eight to twelve animals. (postcard)
