My first postcard from Barbados. It took 2 days to deliver it, the office where I posted it is only 1.5km away from my place.
Former British colony, independent from 1966. Took its name from a Portuguese word 'Barbados' or the Spanish equivalent 'los Barbados' - both mean 'the bearded one'. Barbados is the most eastern island in Lesser Antilles, divided into 11 parishes, with the capital in Bridgetown. (wikipedia)
